The mission of the Mount Sinai Tisch Cancer Center is to advance basic, clinical, and population health cancer research, in order to prevent cancer in healthy individuals and improve the lives of cancer patients and their families in our diverse communities.
Established in 2008 as The Tisch Cancer Institute and renamed the Mount Sinai Tisch Cancer Center (TCC) in 2025, TCC has recruited more than 200 prominent scientists and physicians whose expertise spans basic, clinical, and population science research. They continually collaborate and work in partnership with multiple disciplines across the Mount Sinai Health System to advance novel treatments, such as immunotherapy, that offer hope for those at risk for or living with cancer.
The TCC actively trains the next generation of cancer experts. Our faculty mentor fellows in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in cancer research—basic science, translational, outcomes, and quality improvement research, as well as clinical trials—to develop focused interests and foster careers in academic medicine and future discovery. Our fellowship program is among the most competitive in the nation, with highly accomplished individuals who show tremendous promise selected each year to join the program.
